Affordable Laboratory Packaged Services

East Africa International Medical Center laboratory started with low capacity but is now at the international level. This was after acquiring the GCC accreditation Center certificate, a recognized body in the Gulf countries.

The GCC Accreditation Center team of professionals visited and supervised the facility in Kabalagala, Kampala, Uganda considering several factors, they were prompted to give the certificate.

Laboratory Services

What does accreditation mean?

Accreditation is the external recognition of your adherence to a set of standards to perform an activity or hold a certain status. Typically, accreditation is held by educational institutions or organizations.

It means the accreditation team visits, supervises, and analyses how the quantitative facts work as provided by the service provider. The certification was very long and it took about 6 months of research until they came in person and observed the laboratory’s AT process.

The entire process was tiring and expensive in material and manpower terms, but we achieved it after all.

Why accreditation?

GCC Certificate

After the accreditation, the East Africa International Medical Center laboratory gained international recognition and credibility to offer services on global standards. As a medical center registered under the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uganda, you can trust us to work on your needs and give accurate results.

For this reason, we can confidently say that East Africa Medical Center is the first Eritrean-owned facility with a certified laboratory in East Africa.

Besides accreditation, the capacity of the laboratory has been broadened to accommodate and serve more people, and the entire process is accompanied by sensitization and support. More so, our staff have been trained to match the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) laboratory standards to carry out tests and deliver competent results.

What is the structure of our laboratory?

First and foremost, our laboratory can be broadly divided into three parts as follows:

1. Phlebotomy. This refers to the service offered by the receptionist when the patient comes first.

2. Blood draw. This is the process where the medical personnel take the necessary blood samples from the patient.

These two parts are broadly defined as the same part of microbiology or micro senses.

3. Clinical Chemistry Lab. The third is the house part which we call the Clinical Chemistry Lab or the part of the house where the laboratory technician examines the fluids in our bodies.

Here, the laboratory technician starts to conduct various activities to diagnose the disease before it comes out. This is not what was done in the past using traditional laboratory methods. This approach focuses on prevention before the person gets sick, not necessarily going to the doctor or just coming sick, and we have found it to be more useful.

Under this, we have introduced a different approach by creating packages or integrated testing opportunities like the wellness package that serves people involved in sports and other physical activities.

Laboratory

Pro Tip: It is important to always look at how our body works, especially when we are involved in sports. Because while sports are always beneficial, they are also very harmful when they go too far.

Once they have done the initial diagnosis of this sports checkup, it will help them understand the health status of their body and do the appropriate type of sport accordingly. That is why East Africa International Medical Center is offering comprehensive tests.

So anyone who is an athlete or involved in any sport like working out and others should have laboratory tests at least twice a year.

Another package we have is pre-marital tests which means anyone is fortunate enough to know their status as a couple before they get married. We believe this is one of the best things we can offer in society.

While the common practice is seeing couples rushing to get tested for HIV/AIDS, it is more important to know that there are other non-communicable diseases like hepatitis, Syphilis, and more that we need to worry about as couples.

For example, from the hepatitis B virus, we see that over 1.1 million people die from this disease worldwide annually because there are few regular tests done and this has come wrapped in a pre-wedding package medical laboratory.
