For all students, possessing hands-on skills is an advantage in the working environment today. However, when it comes to the medical industry, it become a must-have quality for every professional.
For this cause, universities and tertiary intuitions set internships as a must-take session for every student before they can graduate and get their respective academic accolades.
Therefore, East Africa Medical Center is among the few hospitals around Kampala that offer such an opportunity to medical students at all levels in university and tertiary institutions pursuing undergraduate degrees, diplomas, and certificate courses.

Twenty-Four (24) students pursuing a Certificate in Nursing Assistant course from Hagyet Academy located in Kansanga Kampala enrolled for the program. Of course, our experienced team will take them through practical training lessons for 1.5 months.
Mr. Abiselom Bahta, the general manager, welcomed the interns and promised all the best.
“Today, we are pleased to announce that you are attending the internship program for your Nursing Assistant course. The ones that came before you have reached far already, and we believe you will also go miles,” – said Mr. Bahta.
“For the next 1.5 months, you are continuing what you have been learning and developing the theoretical lessons into practical ones. I convey my advice by telling you to perform your responsibilities in a good spirit as professionals,” he added.
Merhawit Fanus, one of the students, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity rendered by East Africa Medical Center.
“I am happy to be here! And I hope to learn a lot and leave a changed person as far as my profession is concerned,” – said Fanus.
